Alliance In Education

November - Consultant Spotlight

Whether serving as Founder and President of JUST MATH, as a Board Member for the Pennsylvania Council of Supervisors of Mathematics, or as a Board Member for the Mars Planets Foundation, one mission remains constant:  Sittler’s desire and ability to develop and support others.

Sittler, one of our lead consultants, had the success of her work cited in a federal grant application.During the 2008-2009 school year, Sittler served as a contracted Mathematics and School Leadership Cluster Leader for an affiliate of the National Center on Education and the Economy – Americas Choice.  Consequently, the eight (8) schools that received on-site technical assistance in the areas of school leadership and mathematics from Sittler:

  • Showed increases in student achievement at the Advanced level in mathematics that were 3.5 times greater than the school district as a whole.
  • Showed growth in Proficiency in mathematics equal to 2-3 times greater than the remainder of the district.
  • Students also posted percentage point reductions in Below Basic double the district reduction in Below Basic in math.

Similarly, whether serving as a Director of Achievement or as a Senior Associate, Ingles desires and continues to develop and support others.  During her first year of tenure as a Director of Achievement, she lead clients to realize between eighty and ninety percent implementation effectiveness -as evidenced by measurable achievement goals.  While serving as a Senior Associate, Ingles lead clients to realize two or more years growth!  This success was cited in a 2008 Gates Foundation Press Release:

  • Gains across all...levels and all major race and ethnic groups, with particularly dramatic gains among English Language Learners and low-income and special educationstudents

  • Remarkably...X County doubled the number of schools in which 80% of students scored Proficient or Advanced in reading and math on the...state exam.

Sittler and Ingles alike attribute their ability to effectively develop and support others so that they can meet and exceed measurable goals to their successful coaching, mentoring, and leadership development experiences in and beyond the K-16 school system. Experiences in and beyond the K-16 school system enable Sittler and Ingles to have access to resources which many are unfamiliar.
